Here is some
feed back from the "babes"
Liesl
- "Wicked! Could not believe the amazing fish we saw!
It was like being in a marine tank."
Carol
- "Fantastic experience, I had no idea how many varieties
of fish one could spot in a tidal pool, you just don't have
a clue until you've done it."
Jennifer
- "I have snorkelled in a tidal pool before, but on this
particular day the visibility was superb, like swimming around
in a fish tank. I felt as happy as a kid in a toyshop."
Mich -
Well Saturday the 17th April officially saw the start of the
Saltie Babes snorkelling club. We met at the Chaka's rock
tidal pool and Sam, Jen, Liesl, Carol, Claudie and me, Mich,
had the most wonderful morning. The fish life in there is
amazing. We saw parrot fish, baby yellow belly rock cod, one
lonesome pipe fish, a small lion fish, black tails, flag tails
and some spotted grunter (could be speared with toothpicks
if desperate). For me this was a breakthrough as I generally
am petrified of the sea or any water I cannot see what is
in it, and I spent about 35mins snorkelling. I know my hubby
was very proud of me. Jen unfortunately was the only casualty
with some seriously scraped toes. She now has her own set
of fins, a birthday pressie from her beloved hubby, so she
should be in the clear for the future expeditions. Hubby's
and partners, your ladies need long thermal rashies a.s.a.p.
so we can continue in the colder months.
We look forward to our next snorkelling time next Saturday
the 8th May 04 at Chakas Rock Tidal pool. Get ready ladies.
Be there it will be a lot of fun.
