On my last dive
with at Paindane, with Wessle and Mark Nelson, About 12min
south of the bay, we got in in murky conditions.
Not a very good
idea because the shark activity had been hectic on this reef
the entire trip. We all filled up with Bludger kingfish and
I got a very nice pick handle cuda. We had to get out the
water twice due the the attention of some sets of gums.
Last drift in
about 25m of water and 6m vis. I saw a very big potato bass
on the bottom. As I passed over him I saw the out line of
the job fish squeezed of a shot and raced for surface. Pound
for pound i think this was the strongest fish I shot [ may
have had something to do with the shot placement but can't
say for sure] had it weighed by Dr Uys at 8.8kgs
