Iain Spearfishing Dorado and Kakaap in Mozam

Ok, Dived with Daryl and Burnsie in mozam at Guinjata Bay. Headed north from the bay for about 40min pulling rappi's as we went. Bret was top man and a good one at that.

Drifted over the main reef twice. Daryl got a nice bludger kingi and another. Burnsie also got a very nice kingfish. On this drift Bret saw salad fish going mad and a nice darado clearing the water.
Headed to do the drift again and as i got in loaded the cannon.

Hadn't even un done the rope and this fish, all a light comes into view from over my left shoulder..... panic! fish moves off and all i can see is the tail heading away. I pulled the rubber twice, and the fish turned broad side. I got in a very good shot in the centre of the fish. It was not stoned and tangled all three of our lines. Second shot Burns decided to end the confusion with a kill shot. The reef was called manter, we wher lucky enough to see 8 of these at cleaning stations during the drifts, as well as three whale sharks.

On my last dive with at Paindane, with Wessle and Mark Nelson, About 12min south of the bay, we got in in murky conditions.

Not a very good idea because the shark activity had been hectic on this reef the entire trip. We all filled up with Bludger kingfish and I got a very nice pick handle cuda. We had to get out the water twice due the the attention of some sets of gums.

Last drift in about 25m of water and 6m vis. I saw a very big potato bass on the bottom. As I passed over him I saw the out line of the job fish squeezed of a shot and raced for surface. Pound for pound i think this was the strongest fish I shot [ may have had something to do with the shot placement but can't say for sure] had it weighed by Dr Uys at 8.8kgs
